 This installation for a Boston law firm featured 2500-square-feet of Firebird Industries 1/2” x 3” x RL Quartersawn Brazilian Cherry with a radius fan detaiil made up from 1/2” x 5” Quartersawn Brazilian Cherry all glued to the concrete subfloor via Bostik Best Urethane Adhesive.
The intent of the fan detail was to match the curved atrium wall. This was achieved by figuring the number of pieces required to complete a full 360 degree circle with a 25-6’ radius, and then measuring the circumerence of the portiion of that circle to be installed. EAch 5” piece was individually tapered, splined, and then assembled into the large scale fan. The floor was sanded and finished with three coats of Absolute Coating Oil Modified Urethane.
